JRS is present in 20 countries in Europe. There are 12 Country Offices and  Contact Persons, who are listed below. Their activities include:
- visiting asylum seekers in detention
- giving legal advice to asylum seekers and irregular migrants
- counselling those traumatised by persecution and flight
- providing pastoral care in open centres and closed detention facilities
- providing food and shelter to destitute asylum seekers.
