Sunday,
April 12 -
JRS Ireland would like to extend a huge thanks to all
the supporters of their 2009 Easter Egg Appeal, which
was an astounding success this year.
With the donation of one hundred and sixty Easter Eggs,
JRS Ireland were able to send Easter eggs out to
children living in three direct provision centres in the
Dublin area. We were also able to use the remaining eggs
for the Annual JRS Ireland Easter Egg Hunt.
The egg hunt took place in Mountjoy Square Park at 12.30
on a gorgeous sunny Easter Sunday afternoon. According
to one mother, it was the only Easter Egg Hunt taking
place in Dublin City on Easter Sunday.
After
a scramble to find the hidden chocolate eggs there was
time to enjoy face painting, ‘creme egg and spoon’ races
(see picture), kite making, hoola hooping, football and
relay races.
The fantastic weather brought about 120 people into the
park. Families from all over the world, old and new
friends of JRS and families from the local area spent a
really delightful and fun Easter Sunday afternoon
together.
The day would not
have been such a success without the invaluable
assistance of the many JRS volunteers who worked so
tirelessly to make it such a special day for all.
