NEW TOOL FOR ASYLUM SEEKERS AND PRACTITIONERS FOR DUBLIN
II
JRS-Europe has
launched a new initiative to empower asylum seekers and
practitioners with practical information on the "Dublin
II" system within EU Member States.
The Dublin II Info Country Sheets provide concrete data
on how the so-called "Dublin II" system functions within
the EU Member States. These sheets are primarily
intended for:
- Asylum seekers who have already lodged an application
for protection
- Asylum seekers who intend to lodge an application
- Practitioners who work with asylum seekers, be they
social workers, lawyers or volunteers
Information sheets are now available for six EU Member
States: Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and
Sweden. The sheets are presented in two parts for each
EU Member State: Part I is for "Useful addresses and
contacts" , and Part II is for "Practical and Legal
Information on Dublin Transfers".
Beginning in January 2010, JRS-Europe will work towards
producing more Dublin II Info Country Sheets. We intend
to post sheets for 8 more EU Member States by mid-2010.
By January 2011, we intend to have sheets for at least
20 EU Member States. Currently posted sheets will be
updated at least once every six months.
