JRS Italy opens new accommodation centres
On 13th and 14th January, JRS Italy (Centro Astalli) opened
new accommodation centres in Trento, north Italy, and Catania,
Sicily.
'Casetta Bianca' (Little White House) in Trento will welcome 18
people (families and individuals) and and offer a place of
shelter and rest, as well as social assistance to help begin
integration into society.
The new centre in Catania, 'P. Pino Pugliesi', will host 22
people, and services offered will include primary health
assistance as well as accommodation.
JRS Italy now has a total of six accommodation centres
throughout the country, three others in Rome and one in Vicenza,
north Italy.
Attendees at an opening event in Trento included Fr Giovanni La
Manna, JRS Italy Director, Adbelazim Koko, JRS manager of 'Casetta
Bianca', and Paolo Artini, the UN refugee agency (UNHCR)
Protection Officer.
